Socially Responsible Individuals and Businesses (SRIB):

A new area is being developed in Path10.com. It will be a list of Socially Responsible Individuals (Pathers, Donors and Volunteers) and Businesses that contribute 1% or more of their after tax income to social and charitable causes. You could donate a minimum of 2 hours per month for a total of 24 hours a year as well. It is not necessary that the contribution be made to or through Path 10.

This area will be open to the public. You don’t have to be a member of Path10.com to contribute or view this area.
 

You can add your self or someone you know. Groups that have benefitted from time or money could use this place to recognise the efforts of their donors.

To be Socially Responsible is to be accountable to our world, our children and their future. Despite artificial boundaries of state, language, religion or ethnicity, we are but one human race.
 

We need to leave a positive legacy, a Common Heritage of Mankind, for our children and grand children, not trillions in debt. We need to create endowment funds big enough to counteract the deficit.
 

We encourage everyone to contribute money or time to society and use the services of socially responsible businesses wherever and whenever possible. Creating a better world is a collective responsibility. We all need to contribute and recognise and reward those who do.

Pathers can now submit their poll questions on subjects of general interest. The poll questions should be brief, have at least 3 but not more than 5 possible answers. Priority will be given to questions of current interest to most of the Pathers over those limited to one area, topic or country.
 

The sender of the question will receive 100 points for each of the questions accepted and shown on the site.
 

The administration reserves the right to edit, alter or otherwise modify the question to suit its needs. These changes might be of linguistic, content or of general nature.

The question first received and accepted for uploading on a given subject will be the only one to be awarded points. Questions received later on same or similar subjects will be deleted.
 

In some circumstances, 2 or more questions might be combined. In this case both senders may be awarded points.

Recently, we have added a new feature on path10.com:  it is the possibility of creating a play list of your choicest music.  Another feature is the possibility of creating multiple music lists based either on the kind or the origin of music.

It is an addition that we made following Pather’s suggestions. We would like to see how many of you know about it, utilise it and to see how we may improve upon it.

We are working on the possibility that you might be able to add a given piece of music while you are listening to another without having to stop.

Another feature that we are working upon is the possibility of shuffling your songs with in a play list so that you can decide in what order you would like to listen to your music.

Coming soon: New section on Auctions:

Very soon, you will see a new section on “Auctions”.  This will give Pathers a chance to redeem their points with interesting goods and services. Examples of goods could be books, electronic equipment, household articles, jewelry, paintings, or decoration pieces. Example of services could include a lesson in photography, help from a computer expert on a given issue or, a first consultation with a lawyer or a law student.
 

To begin with, the auctions will be for the Path10 Endowment (Charity). Later on, Pathers would be able to auction goods and services for themselves.
 

We have introduced an innovative method of auctioning called a Chinese Auction. In this kind of auction, you bid a fixed number of points (say 100). Each time you bid, bid points are taken out of your account. These points are not returned to the bidder so each bid takes away these points from your total. The total number of points required to win the auction are predetermined but are not shown to Pathers.
 

As nobody knows the number of bids that have already been made, you risk the required points each time you make a bid. Any bid could be the winning one. Any one can bid as many times as one wants as long as they have the points needed in their account. You can always go upload or view some stuff and quickly earn enough points to be able to bid again.

A new feature that is being added to the Path10.com site is a regular poll question.

Pathers will soon be able to submit questions of popular interest to be posted as a poll question on Path10.com.

1.  Any Pather can post a poll questions along with up to five possible answers.


2. An administrator will decide if and when to post a poll question.


3. The administrator may edit the question for clarity, brevity or for any other possible reason.


4. An administrator may award up to 1000 points for a question, weather that question finally gets posted or not.


5. The poll question must not be offensive or discriminatory.

Play lists for your listening pleasure:

While listening to music on our site, Pathers are currently able to add music to a list of their Choice Music.
 

While you are listening to a song, go below the music player and look for a sign called My Choice and click on it.  Click again to add (or remove) this music in my Choice list .

Once you have added a number of songs to your Choice List, you can play them whenever you like by going to My Account: My Choices (found on the left hand side column below Profile, Messages and Contacts)
 

A new element is being added following your suggestions.  You will now be able to play a selection of these songs as a play list rather than play one by one.
